According to an article in the Boston Globe published on April 4, 2018, “the most recent print edition of Our Bodies, Ourselves will be its last, halting advancement in women’s health, contraception, and sexual awareness in 2011, as its authors shift to a Web-only presence and an all-volunteer model of advocacy.”
The decision is based on financial pressures, and the announcement is considered as very unfortunate by many women who grew up in an era when the book was one of the only reliable sources of information on women’s health.
Parts of the book will remain available online, as will its digital archives, although the website will no longer be regularly updated with current health information, officials said.
