THE VFA PIONEER HISTORIES PROJECT

Sandra Zwerling

December 4, 1930 – June 10, 2021

Educator and Activist. An early member of NY NOW and Co-coordinator of the NOW conference on marriage and divorce, handled all PR and wrote the program and press releases. Worked with The New York Times and Daily News to improve the image of women in the media. Writing appeared in numerous feminist magazines and journals such as Ms., as well as in mainstream publications such as Family Circle and The New York Times. Had a radio program in New York, “A Feminist View of the News,” and appeared as a feminist representative on radio and television. A founder of New Yorkers for Women in Public Office, 1974. A Co-founder of Veteran Feminists of America.
