Vera Glaser

April 21, 1916 – November 26, 2008

“My participation in the women’s movement was a very pivotal point in my life.”

Journalist, reporter and a pioneer for women in politics. A Washington correspondent and bureau chief, 1963. Wrote for the North American Newspaper Alliance, Knight Ridder Newspapers, Maturity News Service and contributing editor for The Washingtonian magazine. Served as a member of President Nixon’s Task Force on Women’s Rights and Responsibilities, 1970. President of the Washington Press Club, a governor of the National Press Club and a member of the board of the International Women’s Media Foundation.
