Graphic designer and historian whose works chronicled the feminist movement. Co-founder, Women’s Heritage Corporation, published calendars, almanacs, books on early feminist leaders, 1969. Joined National Organization for Women (NOW), 1966. Helped found California Chapters of NOW, 1967. President, Los Angeles Chapter NOW, 1968-1970 and 1980-1982. Member, NOW’s National Board of Directors 1968–1977. National Vice President NOW, 1971 – 1974. Chair, National Advisory Committee NOW, 1975-1977. Co-editor, NOW Acts, national newsletter, 1970–1973; and co-editor, National NOW Times, 1977-1985. Major fundraiser and organizer for the ERA ratification campaign, 1980s. Associate editor, The Eleanor Smeal Report, national newsletter with feminist perspective, 1983 – 1990. Developed computerized data base chronology of 20th century feminist movement, basis for the book, The Feminist Chronicles, 1953-1993. Co-founder, vice president, Feminist Majority, 1987. Helped produce two video tapes, Abortion: For Survival and Abortion Denied: Shattering Young Women’s Lives. Co-author, The Feminization of Power, Fund for the Feminist Majority, 1988. Co-author, Feminist Chronicles, 1953 – 1993.
