VFA PIONEER HISTORIES PROJECT: SELINA TRIEFFveteranfeminists2026-01-07T10:32:30-05:00

THE VFA PIONEER HISTORIES PROJECT

Selina Trieff

January 7, 1934 – January 14, 2015

“In the early 60s there was this incredible energy in the art community. It was a place where young artists came to meet older artists almost on equal ground. There was a real feeling of community and continuity. I think one of the feelings people have about the school is it helped [recreate] that continuity.” – Selina Trieff, educator at the Art Association School, Provincetown , 1983

Artist and educator. Early member of Women in the Arts and Women’s Caucus for Art.

Photo. Selina Trieff by Jules Aarons, c. 1952.
