Attorney, author, activist. Women’s Legal Defense Fund. Trial attorney for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Staff attorney for the ACLU’s National Prison Project. Founder and former president of Alliance for Justice (AFJ), the leading progressive advocacy organization on justice issues since its inception in 1979. B.A. in sociology and Chinese from Oberlin College and J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
