Marianne Ferber, Ph.D.

“Women are gaining ground through organization.”
Prominent figure in “feminist economics.” Professor of Economics, served as Head of Women’s Studies, 1979-1983 and 1991-1993, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and was a member of the Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession in the 1970s. Co-founded the International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE) and was its president from 1995-1996. In recognition of her service to the women’s movement, received the Carolyn Shaw Bell Award, 2002.
