Margot Polivy

“It was because of a lack of a governing body for women’s athletics that the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women was formed.”
Attorney for the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women. A key player in shaping Title IX’s sports regulations. Worked for Representative Bella Abzug of New York in Washington (1971-72), and then started a law firm, known as Renouf & Polivy. Earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Hunter College in Manhattan. Taught physical education at Hunter College High School. Received a law degree from New York University School of Law in 1964.
