Fierce advocate for feminism and justice, leader, teacher. Taught English, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, 1968-1971. Active in the women’s movement in Wisconsin; hosted consciousness-raising groups and organizational meetings. First state president of the National Organization for Women in Wisconsin. Part of organizing the Wisconsin Feminist Projects Fund, which was instrumental in working with state officials to open traditionally male jobs to women. A passionate supporter of women’s right to control their own health care decisions. Member of Governor’s Commission on the Status of Women. B.A. in Art History, Bryn Mawr College, 1949. M.A. in Counseling, University of Wisconsin-Stout, 1977.
