THE VFA PIONEER HISTORIES PROJECT

Louise Raggio

June 15, 1919 – January 23, 2011

“Every person has the ability to do something the world needs. Success means you have found your niche and used your best efforts to try to solve the problems.”

The only woman in her law school class. Became the first woman criminal assistant district attorney in Dallas County. The first woman elected a director of the State Bar of Texas. The first woman trustee and chair of the board of the Texas Bar Foundation. Spearheaded the drafting and passage of the Texas Marital Property Act of 1967. Honorary board of Veteran Feminists of America.
