Educator and Activist. Author or editor of a dozen books, including works on American women’s history and Jewish history. Professor at Brandeis University. Served as Samuel Lane Professor of American Jewish History and Culture in the American Studies Program. Professor Emerita of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies. Founded and chaired Women’s Studies program. Affiliate of the Departments of African and African-American Studies, History, Education, and Creativity, the Arts and Social Transformation.
