March 13, 1937 – July 12, 2024

“Whenever I look at any project, I ask myself, ‘Where do women fit into the picture?”

Feminist geographer, author, professor. Wrote about issues related to the history of women in geography, on comparative international perspectives, on landscape, and on geographic education. Instrumental in the growth and success of SIROW (Southwest Institute for Research on Women) and SIROW’s Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) program.
