Distinguished educator, cross-cultural psychologist and undaunted advocate for gender and racial equality. First Black woman to be appointed president of the Canadian Advisory Council on the Status of Women, 1990. A founding member of the National Organization of Immigrant and Visible Minority Women, member of the North Bay Human Rights Hall of Fame and honorary member of the Federation of Medical Women of Canada.
