THE VFA PIONEER HISTORIES PROJECT

Doris Agnes Thom

March 8, 1920 – November 15, 2017

Doris fought for women’s rights throughout her long life.

First woman to serve on the Executive Committee for the International Association of Machinists Local 1266. Wisconsin Governor’s Commission on the Status of Women, 1971 – 1975. President of Rock County, WI Democratic Women for 15 years. Received the Catherine Conroy Award honoring Wisconsin women dedicated to the rights of women and labor, 2001.
