“In 1967, I sat down in front of the television to watch a talk show. The guest, Betty Furness, spoke of a new organization determined to pursue a novel idea –  equal pay for women. It was like an epiphany. I sent in my name, got the information and became an early member of NOW.” – Karen Decrow, former president of the National Organization for Women

Actress, consumer advocate, reporter. Special Assistant for consumer affairs, appointed by President Lyndon B. Johnson. Head of the New York State Consumer Protection Board. Commissioner of the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs. Charter member on the first board of the National Organization for Women (NOW).
