“We’re getting to live our lives exactly as we want to and make a living.”

Groundbreaking lesbian publisher, activist, archivist. Wrote for The Ladder from its inception until it shut down in 1972. The Ladder, considered the first lesbian magazine in the U.S., published monthly. Founder of Naiad Press along with Donna McBride, Anyda Marchant and Muriel Crawford, January 1973. It was devoted exclusively to lesbian literature.
